Wait and See! Full Moon in Gemini

Tonight, the evening before Thanksgiving, is a full moon in Gemini. And tomorrow, on Thanksgiving Day is a Saturn / Neptune square. Here's what it all means and why you might be 'feeling it.'

The full moon (which is in Gemini) opposes the Sun (which this time is in Sagittarius) putting the energies of both signs face to face. Gemini is the data seeker, fact finder, news and media buzz, and those 'oh so welcome' opinions from friends. Gemini tends to get high on information overload but can get bogged down in the anxiety of processing it all.

Sagittarius is a truth seeker. It seeks a meaning to things and clarity. The push / pull of Gemini and Sagittarius facing off will ask us to breath in and breath out the overload of information in your brain and seek patience to find the truth. Gemini likes to fill in the silence and space with one million theories of what may or may not happen next. Sagittarius waits for clarity. So where are you seeing some unclarity in your life? Where are you filling in the blanks when you don't REALLY know the truth? Are you spinning facts? Are you maybe projecting some of your own thoughts or what people have told you to think onto the situation.  Look at your new challenge with excitement and hope as opposed to nervousness and speculation. Wait. And. See.

In addition, I've read that tonight is considered a moon for clearing out the old to make room for the new. What outdated data to you have stored up in your brain or in your space that you can get rid of to make way for a clearer picture of your life?

Interestingly enough, Saturn / Neptune is a similar energy and face off ... not the SAME but similar. Neptune represents your dreams and wishes. It can also on the negative side, represent illusion. Illusion can mean you aren't seeing things so clearly and that you need to take off your rose colored glasses. Maybe the situation is way worse than your dreamy little mind made up. OR on the contrary,  maybe you are focusing on the negative and creating your own obstacles which are just made up in your head. Maybe life is way sweeter and easier than you anticipated. Saturn will challenge this energy by providing structures and tasks. So let's say you want to spend your life as an artist...what do you need to do to MAKE this happen. How much money does it take to pay the bills. Get two jobs, paint portraits on the side. Let's be realistic. You can have your dream. But a dream is best grown when rooted in reality.

This square will either have you fall back into your old patterns, or evolve into being able to see clearly that your dreams CAN happen, but you just have to put some realistic parameters around them. There is patience and discernment required to see this through. This isn't an action taking energy, but a wait, observe, and let things settle in your gut to see how to best handle aforementioned 'dream.'

These energies don't just apply to the next few days. It kicks off a bit of a cycle. So have patience, clear the clutter and see what unfolds!

Shedding some light.

November 11 is a New Moon falling in Scorpio...while the Sun is also in Scorpio. They have turned off the lights, double time. And it's time we shed some light.

To remind you, for those of you who haven't put your finger on what Scorpio energy is in your life.... it's dark, intense, probing, primal, emotional and truth seeking. Once you put two and two together. You won't ever forget what 'Scorpio' means. Yes you've encountered it. It's the energy that drives you to drink.... In fact, the negative side of Scorpio is addiction, but let's roll with the positive which is 'transformation.

The Sun entered Scorpio at the end of October as usual, with the dark feeling of the sign perfectly lining up with us welcoming Daylight savings and grumbling at it feeling like midnight at 5:30pm. Yes, grumble away, because this darkness forces us to seek light in other ways...especially within ourselves. While we welcome the first glimpse of hibernation and introspection that is to come with Winter, we start to explore our inner selves. Yeah, I know....UGH. But that looking within part IS the LIGHT.

The New Moon in Scorpio however, offers us a new fresh beginning after this introspection. It's the feeling of cleaning out the junk in your attic and beginning to welcome in a fresh / lighter energy. But to do this, we have to unearth some crap. Dark, primal - "I am standing naked in front of my classmates" - "I just pulled the nasty hair out of the drain," "Really? I don't wanna go there" fear based crap.

But do it. Get rid of it. Face the 3 foot hairball in your proverbial drain. Because, with this comes a reward. Once you own it, face it, stop fighting it, covering it up and just LET IT GO...your bathtub drains easier, you realize it was all a dream, and you can find the light and lightness of life again. It's realizing the monster under your bed was just a toy clown puppet with strings..haha Just kidding, bad metaphor...

How about the monster under your bed was actually the way the moonlight shined on the floor and goes away in daylight. See it gets light! Light solves it all and it gets brighter. I promise. Because Sagittarius is coming up. And that is the PARTY PARTY fiery time we like to call the Holidays.

Referring to the blog, http://www.leahwhitehorse.com/2015/11/09/new-moon-in-scorpio-november-2015-fate/ the writer gives a great metaphor about not being able to plant a seed unless you dig deep. This is that exact energy. You have to release the old, the outdated, the nasty weeds and old rotten plants and till that soil to make space for this new seed to grow. The above link is an awesome article that definitely resonated. I'd recommend a quick read.

One of the symbols of Scorpio is a snake....shedding its old skin, another a Phoenix, dying and being reborn. Check out this fella that greeted me on my doorstep yesterday to remind me....

There is newness always after the letting go. What new things are ahead??? Hopefully something REALLLLL GOOD....So, let that be your driver.

So brace for it and face it and we'll meet you on the other side in December for some fiery Sagittarius energy!

Don't Worry Be Dreamy

Last night, my friends and I noticed the beautiful full and bright moon! It seems I've created at least one monster because one of them had to know: what does it mean???? You know who you are; you got yourself a post! :)

What fun is life if we don't read into things!? Viola Astrology!

Today at 2:35pm the full moon is in Pisces opposite the Sun in Virgo. Full moons bring things to a head or culmination, and then !POP!, release! With this, full moons are a good time to let go and to give in to resolve. And how we know what the theme is around that release is to look at the signs of Pisces and Virgo. The Sun represents our ego - this time in Virgo; and our emotional nature is represented by the moon - this time in Pisces. There is always a push pull between the two, trying to find a balance.

Virgo represents order, structure, details, health and daily routines. It is a sign of service and hard work. On the "not so great" flip side, it encompasses worry and getting too caught up in those nitty gritty details, and obsessing about controlling your world and routine. Virgo is the sign of hypochondriacts and OCD.

Pisces is a dreamer, connected to the higher knowledge and spirituality. However, Pisces can get too caught up in illusion and non-reality. Pisces has an intution beyond every other sign, depth of understanding but can sometimes forget to take off those rose colored glasses.

So what's the balance? This full moon challenges us to have faith in the details. . . work hard but know that ultimately there is a high power in control of the outcome.  Don't dream along with your head in the clouds soley relying on hope; put in the balance of the work to make your dream happen. Stay rooted in reality, paying attention to your health and taking care of yourself (but not just your physical self)....our spirit and mindset needs nurturing too.

So what is coming to a head in your life? What have you been signaled reminded or to rebalance around these themes? Where are you too 'Virgo' or where are you too 'Pisces'? Get it balanced out! Here's some Saturday food for thought and to self reflect.....

FINALLY, Forward Motion

Upon request, I am turning out a quick post about what the heck is happening in the stars.

I've heard from multiple friends that they've had major shake up and shock in their lives in the last few weeks. The good news? It could possibly carry them into a new chapter! Most of the buzz I've heard has been job related - big job losses, moves, great new offers, etc. (Lots of profound life 'happenings' among the people around me.) But the feeling is, it is all meant to be and 'good.'

I did a little digging and it seems the culprit is SATURN!

This fella in the sky is a hard-ass taskmaster. And from October 2012 to December 2014, he was in Scorpio - the sign of depth, emotion, and unearthing your issues. He took us to task for two years to help us face some fears, and release some of the patterns that hold us back in life. (Think back to this time in your life and see what it meant for you.)

Then, hallelujah!!! Saturn moved into Sagittarius from December 24, 2014 through June 2015. Life eased up and felt more like a party -  put it on the tab at the bar on our fiery friend Sagittarius! ! !

Hold up a minute...what's a party without a hangover? - the fun stopped when Saturn moved BACK into Scorpio on June 14. Summer blues anyone? The good news, it's just for one more month until September 17. Think of those two years mentioned above - what issues did the taskmaster unravel for you? This summer is the ultimate FINAL exam. He is bringing back some of these issues, situations and feelings to see if you finally know what you want in life and can sift through problems with more confidence and ease.
Can you hold those boundaries? Can you make out what is good for you and what is better left in the dust? Can you figure out what things are actually a problem and what's just a problem in your mind?

It's been a bit hectic, since January, Saturn was moving forward, then backwards (back into Scorpio) and as of August 2, Saturn now starts to move forward again in the final month of 'Saturn  in Scorpio' until he reaches Sagittarius in September. So think of a train switching directions - you can feel a big jostle and disorientation in your life as you change direction yet again. But like I said, as of last week at least we are now moving FORWARD for a while. This is a new beginning! Take chances, and opportunities that come your way! And with Mars in Leo, make sure you take action with the kind of passion and heart that the King of the jungle would.

A few other factors...

Venus is in retrograde from July 25 - September 5. I think I've written about this before but Venus, the planet of love and money is moving backwards. This is a time to  revise the way you make money, (i.e. your job), and expect ghosts of relationship past to haunt you. This could be past lovahs OR just people from your past popping up out of nowhere. I can say for myself - I have run into 2 random folks from my job and school in the past week. The stars ain't no joke.

Alright now, here is some stuff you don't want to understand and I don't really want to explain. But take my word for it...  Saturn Squares Jupiter and Semi-Squares Pluto (yeah, I don't really know either). This apparently means that we are forced to adjust our expectations of life. Reality rears it's ugly or not so ugly head and you've got to tweak to fit. We may have imagined life playing out differently but once we confirm what the reality is in our world....we just have to adjust our steps to move forward. I personally find it refreshing. Just gimme the skinny and I can finally move forward with clarity! Don't fumble. Make your adjustments and get on with life! It is what it is.

One more note: Jupiter enters Virgo August 11 -I liked this aspect so had to mention. Take care of your health! Routines, fitness, etc. I know I have definitely been feeling this one. Home made almond milk anyone? Hot yoga? Getting enough rest? I guess I jumped on this train a few weeks early. When in doubt love thyself first. You can't handle stress without making sure me, myself and I is in tip-top shape. So spend a little time on you to get through all this change!

Send me a note anytime you guys want a post! I love hearing when you are noticing a shift too.

Saturn shifts into Saggitarius

My friends are noticing again that something is shifting! So it seemed like time for another post.
And how appropriate that a few of them have picked up on FIRE! I will explain below....

December 23rd, Saturn the task master planet shifts out of water sign Scorpio where it has been since November 2012. For the past two plus years, we've had a personal trainer (Saturn) kicking our asses when it comes to our psyches (think scuba diving in deep deep water). That murky part of your being is ruled by Scorpio and we've been asked . . .  er uhhhh FORCED . . . to take a look at our habits, patterns, deep rooted nature and a more psychological view of ourselves. You should be able to look back and see emotional growth in your life through hard lessons.

Are you ready for a break from the emotion and over thinking? Me too! And you get one for 29 years!

Saturn changes signs every 28-29 years and rotates through the 12 signs.

Next up on its list: Sagittarius. . .

We are already climbing out of the watery swamps of Scorpio and into the fire and hit land tomorrow.  Can you feel the warmth? Are you starting to dry off? Sagitarrius is a positive, happy, optimistic sign and truthfully blunt. Sag strives to keep an eye on the horizon throughout the journey and have a big picture vision of what it wants. It sometimes skips the details and nicities and gets right to it. End Goal!? Big Vision!? That's Sag. Sag is fiery, competitive, philosophical, focused on core beliefs, frank and direct.

But what happens when this cheerful archer meets up with the school of hard knocks Saturn?
Will our plans to reach our warm sunny visions be stopped in their tracks by our eternal boot camp instructor? No, not quite.

However, Saturn may notice that we've been dreaming, scheming, and creating a vision of what we want without writing detailed specifics on paper and he is going to ask us to do just that. Saturn will get all up in that fiery vision of the future and ask you to answer all the hard questions on HOW you will accomplish this and if it is indeed what you truly want. Marching forward towards the distant mountains is all well and good, but Saturn is going to make sure you truly understand what it takes to get there and test your beliefs, philosophies and ideas around your plans.

While Scorpio felt like a trip to a therapists office, Sagittarius is all about creation.  Fire can symbolize burning away old standing buildings and making room for new, or forging together hot metal to build solid structures. We can even think of a volcano, it erupts and destroys, but creates new land formations with its hot lava flow. The next two years will engage this energy and put it to task in a real way.

We all are different signs, and Saturn in Sagittarius may effect each of our lives in a different way. For the area of your chart it might effect, check out the Astro Twins website....'AstroStyle'

Leave it; Love it - Eclipse time again!

The next of our two October eclipses is upon us! Thursday....

Some of us may already be feeling the intensity. Right around eclipses (whether life is good or bad) Things. Get. Frazzled.
Random freak occurrences, accidents, happy surprises and events from out of the blue can pack our schedules and occupy our focus. But if we breathe and watch this hustle and bustle float by in front of us with an observer's eye, we can probably lift a nice little message from the Universe out of it. UNI is always talkin' to us!

Two weeks prior to October 8th until two weeks past October 23rd, we can expect to feel the craziness of the eclipses. All of our charts are different and we may feel it in different ways. A few articles I've perused definitely made an impression. I picked up that with Mercury in retrograde since October 4th, we've almost been reliving the past. Perhaps we've been through repeat experiences similar to another time in our lives. Maybe ghosts from the past have popped up unexpectedly; some same ole, same ole experiences have come into play. But how did we all deal with it this time around? Was the reaction new? Were you ready to shed your old ways? Did we deal with things with a lighter and more knowledgable POV? Have you grown?

Also, eclipses are all about awareness. Check the link below to see what HOUSE these eclipses fall in based on your sign and this indicates how they may effect you? Once you see the house, just google for example "second house astrology", etc to see what part of your life it represents. Is life throwing occurrences your way that reflect what these houses symbolize??? DING DING. That's where we need revision!
http://www.addictedtoastrology.com/p/eclipses-in-astrology-are-typically.html

And on to Thursday's eclipse, specifically. It's in Scorpio; it's a new Moon. New Moons are great chances for fresh starts, but this eclipse amps that up ten fold. Eclipses are super charged versions of whatever the moon is doing. Scorpio is already a pretty intense sign and with that we'll be diving to our depths, shining the flashlight, unearthing our true selves, experiencing transformation, and rooting out the things we have hidden away. The Sun sheds light on our fears, bad habits and flushes them away so we can finally transform. Intense change!

The good news, according to my astrological resources (or at least one of them), this is supposed to be a NICE eclipse. Good eclipse, be nice please! Last April's eclipse? Uhhh, that one was pretty mean;  necessary but harsh. I think we deserve nice...yes? This one ushers in love, creativity, money matters, relationships and rebirth. We'll review, we'll pass the test, we'll see that all our fears and negative thoughts are only created by ourselves. We will let them go. The light of the Sun now gives perspective to our hard lessons from the past year or so and we can finally be free to move forward. Hooray! I don't know about you but I am game for that plan.

Thats the gist of what I am reading anyway.

So there ya go. Happy Eclipsing. Would love to hear what's going on in your world.

Eclipse Anticipation. . .

It is that time again, when the lights in the sky get turned off and then back on again. A full moon eclipse is coming up on Wednesday October 8th (the first of several eclipses this Fall). This means the earth will block the light of the Sun from the surface of the Moon and then slowly illuminate it again. It always makes me think of the scene from CLUE where as the tension builds, the lights go off and come back on again revealing a new truth and something never seen before.

Scroll to about :45 seconds in. Love this movie, so classic!

Back on topic . . .

In my own world and the world of my dear friends, there have been many themes of tension building, waiting for shifts, palpable excitement (although not necessarily happy), anticipation, etc. And so it was important that I investigate the stars on this one. And after reading all my go to resources, I have found that there a few things coming into play the next week that heap on top of the already intense energy of a full lunar eclipse. Here is why it's a mix of complicated energies.

Mercury is in retrograde.
While we are talking about full moons, and eclipses, why not throw another astrological cliche into the mix. It is cliched for a reason. Starting on October 4, Mercury, the planet of communication, moves "backwards" symbolizing snafus in technology, old ghosts popping back into your life and generally a bad time to lock down NEW contracts, deal ands relationships. Mercury goes forward again nearing the end of October meaning that we'll revisit old issues in October and with the energy of the eclipse, we can possibly begin to move forward again with new information and a fresh perspective once it gets going again in November. It's just like the characters in CLUE move forward to solve the mystery in a different way after that 'lights off' scene. Twists and turns!!! Drama. Yes!

Then. . .
Uranus squares Pluto and then trines Mars and then opposes the Sun.
Next up on the heap is Uranus - busy little sucker. It's creating some serious astrological combos, coming into all sorts of aspects with several planets during October.
Uranus is unexpected, unconventional, creates surprises, and throws new items into the mix. It first squares Pluto on 10/4 which can be summed up as an energy of 'unexpected transformation.' You've got two pretty powerful planets connecting. Pluto is all about renewal and rebirth. A day later on 10/5, Mars trines Uranus which denotes 'positive action forward.' Mars is the planet of aggression, movement, war and passion and mixed with unexpected Uranus, we can prepare to move forward in an unexpected way.
Finally, on 10/7 the Sun opposes Uranus. The Sun represents our self so our souls can experience a desire for freedom and to assert our own personal power as our unique and unconventional selves.

Ok so you get the gist of this energy. How many times did I type unexpected? Think freedom, rebellion, standing out from the usual, surprises, twists and turns.

And add to it . . .

The first of 2 Eclipses.
On October 8, the infamous eclipse energy turns off the lights. This eclipse takes place in the sign of Aries which is all about the individual. The Sun is currently in Libra which and Libra is relationships and partnerships, balance, and diplomacy. So this eclipse will be a stand off between folks asserting their personal power and self but balancing that with wanting to maintain and cultivate relationships - whether that it is business, love, family. How do you find the balance? The warning is to not be hasty during eclipses. They are powerful and decisions you make during this time (especially with impulsive Aries in the mix) can be lasting and impactful. It is always good to sit back and give yourself space during these times. At the end of the day, the eclipse energy will triumph and push you to a new phase of life or way of thinking. We need these eclipses to push our boundaries and out of our comfort zones.

Summing up the above, I am trying to tie all these different thoughts together. Here's what I surmise. We review. New information comes to light, things shift unexpectedly and we try to. . . OR now maybe with this new information or twist we are finally ABLE. . . to assert who we really are. Our desire to be unique bubbles up to the surface but challenges the balance of our relationships . . . with our partners, bosses, family. We need to slow down and not buy into Aries hasty energy. Instead balance, and be diplomatic while still taking the opportunity at large to expand your personal power.

No matter what the event is that is happening in your life, it's good to remember that we are only in so much control of life. These experiences happen upon us purposefully to unearth issues, make us deal with old wounds and challenge bad habits and old ways of thinking. It is never merely about the concrete thing that is happening at the time - the career change, the breakup, the family argument, the birth of the child, the beginning of a relationship etc. How is this event challenging your thinking about relationships and what you need to assert for yourself OR stop asserting for yourself. How can you feel comfortable as your unique self but nurture the relationships that carry us along?

Good luck with Eclipse number 1. Stay tuned for news on number 2, which happens on October 23.
